World Run Day Nov.8, 2009

So since I haven't been able to really do any races for about 2 months (the girls soccer season make it a little hard) I decided to sign up for World Run Day 2009 and pick my own route. I used mapmyrun to figure out the distance around my block (it's .66 miles) so I decided to do 5 laps =3.3 miles for my run.

Not wanting to run alone I enlisted my oldest daughter to run with me.
Here is our water station and lap counter. Yana ran laps 1,3 &5 with me
Yana with her personalized race # bib at the start
Yea the sun is shining, clear skies and I am bundled like I am running in a blizzard. (what can I say I saw 36 degrees and got scared)

Yana still going strong and kind of enjoying running I think I might just have to invest in some running gear for her cause I may have just found my new running partner :)
By lap 3 I was over the sweat suit
The final lap!!!! (It's the final countdown..)
So we had to get some victory poses in
and mine can't you just feel the triumph coming through the picture.
I wasn't concerned about time I was just glad to get out and have a good time running with my daughter.

3.3 miles: 37 mins.

Once I signed up for World Run Day I came across the Soles4Souls organization and made a small $10 donation which will purchase 4 pairs of shoes which I think is really amazing, and I just wanted to briefly share a bit of information about the company with your

From the Website:

"Changing the World One Pair at a Time™
Soles4Souls has a simple mission: To impact as many lives as possible with the gift of shoes.
Soles4Souls facilitates the donations of shoes, which are used to aid the hurting worldwide. Shoe companies, retailers, and individuals can donate footwear (both new and used). "
